Company we keep
We believe that you’re only as good as your last job. So with over 60% of our work coming from repeat customers, we’re justifiably proud of our track record. We’re also developing an impressive capability in providing a complete service that is seeing 50% to 60% of our work being subject to negotiated contracts rather than going through traditional competitive tenders – a further endorsement of our sound approach and solid delivery.
We focus on gaining a deep understanding of the needs of our customers, beyond simply delivering an outstanding piece of construction work. We can consult in supporting clients to gain a stronger position on the broader aspects and risks involved in operating their portfolio.
Often, the project planning phase is undertaken without the involvement of the builder. We understand the importance of the contribution we can make in the early stages, not only does it increase alignment throughout the project, it also allows us to have a major impact on overall outcomes by ensuring we can effectively influence overall project costs.
We work with institutions including: GPT, Investa, Colonial First State and Charter Hall, and many others.
Institutions are increasingly looking to invest in property and untap returns by adding value to their property investments. At Built, we're developing a strong reputation in the marketplace for delivering on building repositioning projects that bring a new lease of life to an investment.
We've also completed significant construction of new buildings across a number of industry sectors including commercial office, hospitality and retail.
Privately owned and unlisted developers
We work with privately owned and unlisted developers.
A current client came to us with a proposal for a commercial building they were seeking to acquire in the Sydney CBD. Our in-house capability to complete new building construction and major building refurbishments ensured we were considered the best option for the client in this instance.
The tired office building would typically have been demolished to make way for a new building, but we worked with the client team to develop a proposition that would see the building undergo a total transformation and bring it back to the rental market roughly six months faster than a demolish and rebuild option. With the conversion of five levels to retail space and the addition of let-able space by adding to the floor plates and adding several additional floors on top of the building, our client had a viable business opportunity.
We work with end users including: Amalgamated Holdings, Norton Rose, IAG, and Qantas.
Qantas was developing plans to provide the world's best first class lounges in their international airport terminals in Sydney and Melbourne. The lounges, designed by Marc Newson, were to be developed in a 16 week build program that would see us manage procurement of materials from overseas and over 40 different subcontractors to deliver on the vision of the "Qantas First" lounges.
At Built, our new clients often come to us with a specific building need in mind, but they come back to us for the value we add in developing a partnership.
