Built was engaged by GE Capital to upgrade the facilities of the existing commercial building located at 636 St Kilda Road. The renovation comprises a full refurbishment to the ground floor and lift lobby, upgrades to services and amenities from ground to level 18, a roof parapet upgrade, as well as external soft and hard landscaping.
The highlight of the refurbished building will be the angled feature wall cladding to the ground floor lift lobby that merges into a newly clad stone wall at the outer side of the lift core walls. A dropped ceiling containing perimeter pelmet lighting will complete this area of the building.
The project demands include a tight completion date, accurate programming and a need for strong teamwork between Built and its subcontractors. Live environment works also form a major component with the programming of disruptive works meticulously planned so as not to disrupt the building occupancy.
