KPMG (VIC)
Contract value: $29.0m
Client: KPMG / J.G.L Investments
Completion date: December 2006
This refurbishment included major structural demolition, concreting works and the replacement of all services in the ceilings whilst not compromising the heritage listed banking chamber. This involved restoring many original features including the vaulted ceiling, fluted columns, and the marble entry. Stone was sourced from quarries in Italy to match existing materials. Aluminum was also procured from overseas to meet the exacting requirements of the job.
The site remained operational throughout the renovation. The outcome is a leading example of working on a heritage listed property.
