Executive Chairman & Group CEO

Marco Rossi

Marco is the Executive Chairman, Group CEO and Founder of Built Group. He has dedicated the past 26 years to the vision for Built Group and its position as one of Australia’s largest construction companies. At the core of the company’s growth, he has driven a consistent leadership approach focused on client relationships and a high-performance team culture. In recent years, Marco has invested in innovation, questioning established social conventions, and instigating rejuvenation across the construction industry.

Chairman

Wal King AO

Wal is the former CEO of Leighton Holdings Limited. He was responsible for Leighton’s significant growth, transforming a $17 million mid-tier construction company into a diversified contractor with operations across Australia, Asia, and the Gulf region turning over $25 billion. With over 40 years in construction, he was made Officer of the Order of Australia in 2004 for his service to the Australian construction industry, along with being named businessman of the year in 2001 and 2008. Wal is currently a Director of Rock Art Australia and a former Director of Coca-Cola Amatil Limited.

Wal joined the Board in 2019.

Independent Director

Dieter Adamsas

Dieter is the former Deputy CEO and CFO of Leighton Holdings Limited. He was working side by side with Wal King through Leighton’s business expansion. With over 40 years in construction, he has held various roles in senior accounting and commercial positions. Dieter is a former Director of the Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA), life member of Financial Executives International of Australia, member of the University of New South Wales Business Advisory Council, and Fellow of the Australia Institute of Company Directors, and formerly a Member of the Trade Advisory Council.

Dieter joined the Board in 2019.

Independent Director

Gabrielle Trainor AO

Gabrielle has more than 25 years’ experience on boards and is a Director of Infrastructure Australia, Western Parkland Authority (NSW), the ACT City Renewal Authority, and is a board member of the Major Transport Infrastructure Authority (Vic). Chairing the Construction Industry Culture Taskforce, a joint project of industry and the NSW and Victorian Governments, Gabrielle is focused on securing the long-term sustainability of our industry. She is a Churchill Fellow and a member of Chief Executive Women. In 2017, Gabrielle was named an Officer in the Order of Australia for service to community in transport and infrastructure planning and design, and as a contributor to social welfare and sporting institutions.

Gabrielle joined the Board in 2021.

Independent Director

Peter Allen

Peter is the former Executive Director and CEO of Scentre Group. He brings extensive industry knowledge and expertise from his 30 years of business transformation, including leading a global organisation through the COVID-19 pandemic. Through his time leading the group, he was recognised for his vision, dedication, and hard work that changed the way the company operates, placing it in a strong leading position returning close to $1 billion in profit in his final year. Prior to Scentre Group’s establishment in 2014, he was CFO of Westfield and held multiple leadership positions at Westfield and Citibank in Australia, United Kingdom, Europe, and USA. Peter is also a Director of the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute

Peter joined the Board in 2023.

Executive Team

CEO, Construction

David Paterson

David has over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry, 25 of which were with Lendlease. During this tenure, David held various executive roles across the business, including Managing Director of Lendlease Asia and most recently served as Managing Director of Lendlease Construction where he was responsible for overseeing Lendlease’s Australian construction business. As CEO of Construction, David is responsible for overseeing Built’s construction business and supporting and delivering the vision of the Built Board.

Director Corporate Services & CFO

Rob Bonaccorso

Rob has over 30 years’ experience in finance and has held a number of senior roles in diverse industries including engineering, property, and transport. He is responsible for finance, including accounting and treasury, along with corporate services including safety, operations, project risk, and People & Culture at Built.

General Counsel & Company Secretary

Andrew Lonsdale

Andrew brings over 35 years’ legal experience in corporate and commercial law, specialising in construction law. He plays a key part in Built’s culture of dispute-free project execution. Previously he was General Counsel at Lendlease and Abigroup.

Director People & Culture

Sarah Wilson

Sarah has over 20 years’ experience in Human Resources working across construction, professional services, IT, and utilities sectors. She is responsible for Built’s people programs including recruitment, our Built Worthy culture, training, and development.


Director, NSW

Steve Boss

Steve is responsible for Built’s New South Wales Construction business. He is a well-respected construction industry leader with over 30 years’ experience. Steve is known for his technical capability and leadership strengths, combined with his long-standing relationships in the industry.

Director, Vic & SA

Ross Walker

Ross is responsible for Built’s Victorian and South Australian businesses across construction and fitout & refurbishment. Ross has over 20 years’ experience within the construction industry across multiple sectors and has successfully delivered several large-scale design & construction and Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects.

Director, WA

Jon Stone

Jon is responsible for Built’s Western Australian business and has over 20 years’ industry experience. He is a well-respected construction industry leader, having delivered projects to the value of $5bn for tier 1 builders in the United Kingdom, Western Australia, and South Australia.

General Manager, Qld

Christian Adamson

Christian is responsible for Built’s Queensland business. With over 20 years’ industry experience, he brings expertise across procurement, programming, design, and quality management, as well as developing and maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships.


Director HSE

Paul Farrell

Paul brings over 25 years’ experience as a workplace health and safety professional, providing process, planning, and delivery expertise across a range of sectors including steel, oil and gas, aviation, and construction. He is known for his authenticity, visible safety leadership, and genuine care of others to drive a generative safety culture.

Development Director

Jono Cottee

Jono has over 18 years’ property industry experience specialising in property development, design, delivery, and leasing. He is a trained architect and designer, and leads Built’s development business, responsible for managing the end-to-end development pipeline.

Jono sits on the Property Council of Australia’s Commercial Office and Cities Committee.

Director Project Risk 

Gary Stagnitta

Gary has over 30 years’ experience within the construction industry across project delivery, consulting, and commercial roles. He is responsible for overseeing and advising on group-wide risk and governance, and ensuring operational excellence in commercial management.
