Geelong Mums x Built: Rise & Shine Breakfast

8 November 2022

Recently, Built partnered with Geelong Mums to host the second annual Rise & Shine Business Breakfast at GMHBA Stadium in Kardinia Park, Geelong.

Victoria’s Western Region team proudly attended the event along with 250 guests, including Mayor Peter Murrihy, City of Greater Geelong and Christine Couzens MP.

Attendees heard from guest speaker Nicole Livingstone, a highly decorated Australian Olympian and CEO of the AFLW. Nicole shared her leadership insights and her experience from “backstroke to boardroom.”

At the Rise & Shine breakfast, Geelong Mums revealed that 6,500 individual babies and children have been supported in Victoria’s Western Region this year. This was achieved with the supply of clothing, cots, prams and other necessities.

Built Construction Director, Andrew Morgan, addressed the crowd at the event and discussed the history of our partnership with Geelong Mums and touched on our social impact commitments across the country.

“Working with Geelong Mums has been so inspirational, knowing we have helped provide the basic necessities to vulnerable babies and children in our own community,” said Andrew.

“It is such a rewarding feeling. Built’s ongoing commitment to Geelong Mums is testament of how we live our Built Worthy values,” he added.

Built’s partnership with Geelong Mums is so much more than financial support. Our local project teams volunteer their time to help pack, clean and fix baby equipment so that it is ready for distribution. Teams also used their construction expertise to complete a fitout of the Geelong Mum’s office with the goal to increase efficiency of operations for volunteers and staff working in the space.
