Barossa Park Redevelopment

The Barossa Park Redevelopment is a multi-purpose precinct built for the local community. The project has seen the transformation of the existing Lyndoch Recreation Park oval to meet AFL standards, and delivered a precinct fit for multiple sports at community and professional levels.

Value: $35m

Client: The Barossa Council

Architect: Dash Architecture

Completion date: February 2025

Completed ahead of schedule, the project included an upgrade of the existing oval, as well as a new multi-purpose pavilion, event space and clubrooms with commercial kitchen, multi-sport change facilities and gym.

A mini Adelaide Oval replica bar, new netball courts, a recreation green, and a second oval accommodating an athletics track, along with a playground, a family garden, additional carparking, and a formalised roadway are all part of this exciting project.

The upgraded facilities cater to both professional and community sporting events, while also opening doors for festivals, artistic endeavours, and conferences. It sets a new benchmark for local sports and community venues and allows The Barossa Council to showcase the Barossa to the nation during Gather Round.
