The project comprised façade replacement and roof cladding and upgrading the HVAC system, which was housed in four pod structures around the building. These raised concrete pod structures required extending and modifying to accommodate the new PAC units and bring the building up to code.

The works were staged so that the facility could remain operational throughout the works, adding to the level of planning required to safely carry out these works within a busy campus.

The AIS Basketball and Netball Centre was awarded Best Use of Materials – Commercial Exterior at the ACT MBA 2018 Building Excellence Awards.
