Repurposing heritage space into new venue

Project

Brogan’s Way Gin Distillery

Our small works team were engaged to convert an existing saw tooth warehouse, formerly a mechanical workshop, in the inner suburb of Richmond into a modern Gin distillery marketing to the changing demographic of the area.

Value: $525k

Client: Poison Creek Distillery Pty Ltd T/A Brogan’s Way Distillery

Architect: L2D Architecture

Completion date: March 2018

Working closely with the client, Built delivered a back of house manufacturing area with a Still and Spirit Tanks imported from Europe, a serving bar area, café area, bathrooms, loading dock, office space and new facade to the building. Non-explosive cabling was installed to the Still with monitoring controls and a complex vapour exhaust system.

To achieve the unique space the team also completed new feature timber recycled walls, led lighting controlled with different colours remotely highlighting the vats as a hero of the space. Corten panelling to the front of the building which rusts over time, polished concrete floors and epoxy floors complete the new distillery.
