A significant lobby refurbishment and new glass façade project within a live and operational Brisbane CBD building, linking 259 Queen St with the adjacent heritage listed GPO building.

The project consisted of the complete demolition and refurbishment of the existing entry foyer in a live and operational Brisbane CBD building, with full public access maintained. The works included the demolition of an existing glass roof, structural demolition, a new glass façade and roof abutting into an existing heritage building, all new lobby finishes and fitout including a 10m high feature stone clad wall and a lift car upgrade.

The GPO is a place of local heritage significance included in the Heritage Overlay of Brisbane City Plan 2014, and also listed as a heritage place on the Commonwealth Heritage list. Delivered in three stages, the works acknowledge the significance of the site by delivering a high standard of materials and workmanship, and care and respect for the significant historical fabric.
